Seoul

The most predictable way to describe the capital of South Korea is to say that Seoul has Soul. At least they have very unique and colourful heritage which you can see in the costumes of the royal temple guards and in the charming traditional street performances. But the city is also very westernised and when I say westernised I mean too Americanised. There are American influence all around the city and especially in a district called Itaewon where the bars are more American than bars I have been into in the States, the music the interiors the guests the drinks the staff, everything and after a while in there you can easily forget that you are in Asia. In this neighbourhood you also see units of army troopers walking around fully army dressed. I heard they are mostly keeping an eye on the off duty soldiers who go all in on the off duty nights, who can blame them. But I guess that somehow in these times when the leader of North Korea seems to get crazier by the minute living in his own disturbed world not willing to respect his own people human rights and seems to have no interest in joining the the rest of the world to the 21th century and try to work on world peace, it can't be worse to have the a big USA army base in town.
