Meet Harðfiskur (e. Dry fish) and Hákarl (e. Shark). In China it is very common to see small fountains, fish tanks, water
sculptures or large water bowls inside buildings because it is
believed that water with it´s freshness, cleanness and movement brings prosperity (Feng Shui). So me and P decided that the first purchase for our new home in Shanghai would be a fish in a bowl. Although on the photo the boys look much bigger than they really are due to the magnifying bowl I have been feeling a bit guilty keeping them in there since I got them two weeks ago. The plan was to only get one small fish but with our limited Chinese we managed to understand that they had to be two because one would not thrive alone. They didn´t say anything about the size or more likely we didn´t understand or forgot to try to ask. To my defence they came from a rather small and packed tank and I have been trying to take good care of them, change the water often ( they poo a a lot!) and feed them according to instructions and they are still alive and seem to be doing fine. But I am moving to a bigger apartment next week and I think in the way the boys will also move to a bigger bowl.
oh they are really cute. But is it enough space for both of them? :)
