Busan

Busan is South Korea's second largest city but rather than having the feel of a buzzling Metropolitan City the vibe I got from it, after visiting twice recently, is more of a beautiful relaxed seaside town (I might have been hanging to much at the five star Hotel sea-view-all-day-free-coffee-and-cake-lounge).
The city central has two beautiful beaches, Haeundae Beach which is lined with luxury hotels and crazy seagulls and Gwangan Beach which is lined with Coffee houses and Bars. The Gwangan Beach Bars really come alive during the night and you can be doing the Gangnam Style on the dance floor one minute and be in the ocean skinny dipping the next.
But Busan is also, like all big cities in Asia, filled with shops and luxury malls where you can shop until you drop and then go to the spa.  Korean Spas are one of a kind and basically a place where people go and hang around in their pyjamas for hours and then take a bath all together (genders are separated though). A must try if you are heading over there.
The thing I found the most interesting about Busan though is the amount of churches and coffee houses around town. You can spot Crosses all over the city and you don’t have to walk more than ten meters between coffee houses (and they are not all Starbucks). I guess I got the answer to why my very Religious Coffee Loving Italian Friend is adapting so well over there.
