Last October I visited Yangshuo county in Guilin. This beautiful area has a very unique and pictures landscape. Someone told me it´s the most popular destination for photographers visiting China. We experienced some amazing and interesting things like floating down a river in a bamboo draft, bike around the beautiful nature and visit a local market where we saw a freshly skinned dog ready to be cooked. I am no dog lover but that was an uncomfortable sight.
We stayed at a lovely Dutch Guest house called the Giggling Tree. It was perfect to get a good breakfast and coffee before heading out to the wild Chinese countryside (maybe not so wild since it its one of the most popular tourist destination in China) and have a glass of wine in the garden when returning. I would like to go to Yangshou again sometime and then also visit one of the many rice fields in the area and get a little bit better weather.
