朱家角 ZhuJiaJiao

Last spring we joined an outing organised by the compound we live in. The management of the compound regularly organises outings like this for the helpless language handicapped foreigners that mostly live here. Everything is planned and organised from a to z so the only thing you need to do is set the alarm on the correct time and make sure your camera battery is charged. The destination was ZhuJiaJiao, one of many small so called Watertowns around Shanghai. I had already been to few of them and the thing is once you have been to one you have kind of seen them all. That day it was also freezing humid cold so after eating local lunch and taking the mandatory boat trip we found the most western looking coffee house were we awaited for the bus go back.

On the way back home we stopped at a local strawberry farm where we purchased some self picked strawberries which was a fun ending to this otherwise predictable trip. After arriving home and already seeing that the 2 kg of fresh strawberries we picked would probably not stay fresh much longer we decided to make a home made Strawberry Jam (P made it I ate it) which was a suitable ending to this senior style day trip. It was fun to try it once.
