The Thailand Trip. We physically went to two locations but really only visited one. First it was Bangkok were the plan was to take in the city for three days before hitting the beach. But due to election demonstrations going on the same weekend we arrived, we ended up staying inside the hotel the whole three days! While I was ready to go and do some exploring and some partying Hangover style (here´s for never giving up the hope for a good party), Mr P kept a close eye on CNN and Twitter where he followed people standing in the middle of the demonstrations (which by the way were in limited areas that could have easily been avoided). And when it comes to Mr P there are no changes to be taken so staying inside it was. So I have been to Bangkok but not really. I am hoping I will learn to appreciate this extra cautious "quality" of his when we will turn into a family of three next year.
Next up was Phuket. Phuket is a very very very popular tourist destination, especially among ultra tanned Russians and Swedes. The good thing though about the Swedish colony over there is that you can buy liquorice. You have no idea how happy that made the living-in-China-liquorice-deprived-Scandinavian me. But yeah it was a bit to touristy (you know as we are to good to be around other tourists). But we managed to escape the crowds by going on a scooter sightseeing trips and trying out various Hotels around the Island. Even though we didn´t exactly pick out the best places to visit, Thailand is an amazing country with all it´s divine temples, wonderful free spirited people and good food. But I think (and heard afterwards) that it´s it´s best to avoid Phuket as Thailand has plenty of other places worth visiting. I am going again fur sure, at least I need to see Bangkok.
